Privacy Policy

We don't collect your data

Vireo has no user account and no Vireo server in the path of your terminal sessions. We do not receive or store your commands, files, screenshots, or agent conversations.

Your credentials stay on your device

SSH keys, host fingerprints, and passwords are stored in iOS Keychain and used only to connect to the host you selected.

Terminal, files and attachments

Terminal traffic is encrypted by SSH between your iPhone and host. Remote files are fetched only when you open them. Photos and files selected in the composer stay on the device until you send them, then transfer to your host over the active SSH connection. Vireo does not keep a cloud copy.

Local data on your Mac and agentd

The optional companion reads local session state and agent logs needed for the features you request, and stores its small amount of state locally on your Mac.

A plain SSH terminal works without agentd. Live agent state, approval hooks, Usage, server discovery and related advanced workflows require the companion.

Push notifications

When enabled, the companion uses the device push token with Apple Push Notification service. Notifications contain only the minimum text needed to identify the session event, never a full terminal transcript or file.

Voice input

Apple dictation uses Apple's speech frameworks and follows the processing behavior and privacy settings of your iOS version. Mac Whisper records a short clip on iPhone, sends it over SSH to your selected Mac, and transcribes it locally there. Vireo does not operate a speech server.

Purchases and subscriptions

Vireo uses StoreKit for purchases. Apple processes payment information, purchase history, trial eligibility, refunds and subscription management. Vireo receives only the signed entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features on the device.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, supported preferences and snippets are stored in your private iCloud container through Apple's CloudKit. The feature is off by default and can be disabled at any time.

No analytics, advertising, or tracking

Vireo includes no advertising SDK, behavior analytics, or third-party tracking. We do not build a profile of how you use the app.

Retention and your control

Delete a host to remove its saved connection information from Vireo. Delete local uploads from your Mac when you no longer need them. Disable notifications or iCloud sync in Settings. Deleting the app removes its local app data subject to normal iOS and iCloud backup behavior.

Children's privacy

Vireo is a developer tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and call out material changes in release notes when appropriate.
